Learn about fusing qualities of glass, COE of glass, the nature of Dichroic and art glass and how it's made, and then create your own one of a kind Dichroic pendant (s). Learn about supplies needed and why you need them. Pendants will be fused with some observation during class, but some will be done after class and pendants will be available for pick up the next week. Cold work after fusing will be discussed in class and taught (examples of what can happen will be shown). You will be provided with sandpaper to do your own cold work (smooth rough edges). One bail will be provided and instructor will discuss application of bail. You will make 1 or 2 pendants in class, but neither will be ready for pick up until the following week. I can mail your pieces if you live out of town. Cost of this class is $70. Class size is limited to 6 people. Samples for a more advanced class will be shown.

Description: Did you ever wonder how they got one stone mounted on top of another stone? Do you want to add embellishments to your cabochons? I’ll show you how to take it ‘up’ a notch. In this class students will create their own one-of-a-kind earrings. Each piece will be a work of art in its own right. You will draw on your creativity and think out of the box to design asymmetrical earrings that complement each other. You will learn how to set a calibrated cab in a pre-fab bezel cup as well as creating a small, thin bezel setting for a custom cabochon to install on top of another, larger cabochon. You’ll learn the proper technique for drilling stones and how to make both a chemical and mechanical connection to secure your top stone to the bottom stone. I’ll show you proper technique for using a jeweler’s saw and you’ll have the time to practice. I’ll also give you a couple of tips to make your sawing easier. We’ll go over a couple of different finishing techniques to enhance your jewelry as well as discuss and apply design principles to your work. And everything you learn making these earrings is transferable to any other piece of jewelry you are making! If you already have skills, we’ll work on the things YOU want to work on. Cost of this class is $225 (for both days) + kit fee (payable to Jeff on class day)

She'll bring her box of all her bracelets (many are for sale and make great gifts for you or friends/family) and you can learn any of them that you want!! Class limit is 4 people. There can be exceptions to this if you have a group that all want to learn the same thing. Call if that's the case. Since you will be picking what you want to make, you will need to purchase supplies to make your project(s). It's hard to have a kit fee if I don't know what you are making.

Length: All Day Students will Learn: In this class you will learn all about silver soldering. We will discuss flux, pickle, solders, torches and the 5 Points of soldering. In this “technique” class, you will solder a butt joint and a ‘T’ joint. Learn how to pick a cabochon and how to set it, as well as some texturing and finishing techniques.
