Nancy teaching Hollow form Lentil bead and Solid Form Silver Metal Clay Bead Design and Construction!



Lentil and Fine Silver metal clay class for those who have taken the beginner class or have experience with metal clay.  Nancy will teach how to make hollow form lentil beads, and you will leave have made a finished piece(s) ready for firing in her kiln.  You will learn how to design, texture, form and finish your pieces.  You determine the size of your lentil bead(s).  She will also show how to make smaller solid beads with any leftover clay.  The price includes 10 grams of fine silver clay, the use of tools and textures, instruction, and firing of your pieces.  Final finishing is at your discretion.  The class participants will select a date/time for pickup of fired pieces and have short instruction on further finishing, such as patina.  Minimum 4 people, maximum 5.  Future, more advanced classes will be discussed. Student kits with tools and textures are available for use in class.  Cost of class is $125.  Additional 10-gram packages will be available for $25 for the ambitious!

Skill:  completed Beginner Metal Clay class or experience rolling, forming, texturing and pre-finishing silver clay.  Polymer clay experience does not apply. 
  
Class date:  March 29, register online by March 22 to allow time for silver order. 
  
Class time:  10:00 – 3:00, lunch break 12:30 – 1:30 to allow pieces to dry before finishing.

Requirements: You will be using sharp tools, so age limit of 14 or older.

Instructor Bio: Nancy's inspiration comes from texture; natural stones; pearls with unique luster, color and shape; nature; and anything related to the sea, underwater, by the shore, or on the surface. She is motivated to create for women who have multi-faceted lives and make subtle or bold statements with unique jewelry, expressing individuality from ballgame to boardroom and anywhere the evening takes them. Precious Metal Clay is a staple in her creations, providing opportunities for textures and hand carving unavailable with silversmithing techniques. Her journey began with a private class from Bernadette Deneau in Miami, followed by some online classes, a hand carving class with Holly Ginsberg, and Level II PMC Certification obtained at William Holland School.
