2023-03 Exciting things going on at that Bead-Therapy place......

March Newsletter

I hope everybody is still having a wonderful year and getting all the Christmas bills paid off (so you can shop here for more beads that you need/want)!  I'm back from Tucson pricing and labeling things like MAD!!!  We have broadened our seed bead section and have added several colors in the 11o and 15o category.  We had to bring out the old seed bead display (that has been fixed) in order to fit everything in.  The 11o section is now the WHOLE bead display instead of just packed into 3/4 of the rack.  Trying to take pictures of the new colors for all the out of town people. Purchased a LOT more 8o Hexes, Magatamas, drops and cubes.  Oh, bugles too.  I got quite a lot of 2mm cubic zircon in about 10 colors too. Natural stones and gemstones are coming out too, but slowly.  I have to take pictures of everything and make labels for them.

As always, I'm guessing at what classes you want to take and working out times with teachers!!  Please let me know if you want any other types of classes, please let me know by emailing me at susan@bead-therapy.com.  We still have Dale Cougar Armstrong teaching on a monthly basis and her classes are going to continue to get more advanced as they continue.  Right now you can still join at a beginning level.

Working on trying to get a metalsmith teacher here as well....

And please remember that some of our teachers drive more than an hour to get to Bead-Therapy to teach classes.  Gas is pretty expensive and they can't drive here for only one or two students.  Classes will be cancelled if you don't sign up and pay for your class.  If a class is cancelled, we'll make every effort to contact you to let you know.  You can't show up on the day of class anymore and expect to have a class going.  So please, don't wait until the last minute to sign up and pay.  Here you go with a fun link (if needed) - CLASSES  Or read on below!!!

We do ocassionally have some classes planned during the week, so please pay attention to the date and day when you sign up.

March 11th at 10A Susan teaching Pebeo Paint Washer Class!  I keep getting requests for this class again, so I guess that I'll keep teaching it.  It makes a big mess, but it really is a lot of fun watching what your painted washers turn into!  I don't think that I've seen an ugly one yet!!  You will finish anywhere from 10-15 washers during the class and about 5 earring pairs, but you have to return to pick up your artwork on Wednesday or later since they take at least 3 days to dry.  You can bring items (FLAT items) to paint if you want to do something other than washers, but nothing too terribly large.  I've done a 7" tall wooden letter from Michael's before (smooth surface, not plywood type roughness) and it did look pretty good, but I can't guarantee anything other than the washers or earrings in class.  Resining on top of paint can be done at a later date and arranged whenever you want with me.   This class size is limited.  Cost of this class is $65 and includes all supplies. I can Possibly add another class in the afternoon if there is enough interest, but you need to contact me about it first.  Link to this class is HERE!

In June - the 3nd Anniversary Sale!!  We will have been open at 112 Lee Parkway Drive for 3 years!!  We moved in during COVID Chattanooga business closedown in April 2020 (boy was THAT a lot of fun - NOT) and have grown and grown and grown!!  Specials and dates have not been determined yet, but will be forthcoming in the near future.  I can't wait!!

Please remember that we offer many classes on demand.  If the teacher is local, most are willing to teach classes at a convenient time for you and the teacher.  I’m getting these on the website, but please have patience!!!

And generally, I sometimes (ok, all the time) don't really proof this newsletter prior to sending it out.  Most of the time because I'm sending it out at the last minute and in sort of a hurry.  Please excuse the poor grammer and misspelled words.  That's not my strong suit!

And please remember to shop small.  I know there are a lot of other places that you can shop at to purchase your beads.  I'd like to think that we offer valuable knowledge and skills to enhance your jewelry (or beaded whatever) making.  The big boxes continue to get bigger and I'm hearing of more and more of my fellow bead shop owners having to close down because they can't compete.  I can't compete either, but would like to think that I offer more choices and services that make you want to come back for more.  Thanks for your support and I hope that I can stay here for you for many more years to come!
